It’s a rare engineer that doesn’t tinker. Below are some of my obsessions over the years, when I remembered to take photos!
Wood Turning
I started turning in 2015 and joined the Otago Woodturners’ Guild.

Watch Replica
For his 11th birthday, my grandfather received a watch. 70 odd years later I made a replica.
Modelled in Creo, 3D printed into brass. Polished and then electroplated. Assembled using modern quartz movement with original hands.

Cycling and Bicycle Restoration
I’ve restored a handful of bicycles, as well as electrified a few more. I’ve taken part in the Dunedin Tweed Ride for some years, riding something different nearly every time.

Painting
I paint from time to time, mostly as gifts for loved ones (and forgot to get a decent photo!)

Jewlery
Resin, polymer clay and metal clay. Embedded and sculptural objects (2008-2013)
